Sustainability or ESG is a hot topic in today's global economy. The focus is still, but not exclusively, on the "E", i.e. preventing climate change and achieving the Paris climate goals. This is also due to various regulatory legal acts, such as CSR reporting. With the "Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtgesetz" (LkSG) and the recently presented draft of the EU Commission on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence, social aspects and social responsibility are also being vehemently considered. All of this is now becoming very tangible and significant in the context of the Ukraine war: Considering questions of energy supply, supply chains, sanctions and the moral question of supporting Ukraine and saying goodbye to business with Russia. The latter not only includes the attitude of Management and Supervisory Boards, but also of investors, and is thus a core question of governance. Today we would like to discuss the connection between sustainability and governance with Mr. Ingo Speich.
